Jeffrey de Castro Mariano, M.D. is a staff physician for the Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and former Assistant Clinical Professor in Geriatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his medical school training at the University of California San Francisco and Internal Medicine training at the Center for Health Sciences at UCLA. He is a 2005 graduate of the UCLA/VA Multicampus Program in Geriatrics and Gerontology. His interests are in medical education, functional assessment in the elderly, ethnogeriatrics, and medical informatics. He is currently involved quality improvement projects at Kaiser Permanente looking at the multidisciplinary geriatric approach and Health Connect (Kaiser Permanente’s electronic medical records) to improve geriatric care in the inpatient, outpatient and long term care settings.
